What do I bring to the swim meet?
Make sure to have your team suit, cap and goggles. Bring a few towels, extra clothes, games or something to keep you occupied while waiting, water, snacks and SPIRIT!
What time are the meets and when should we arrive?
We have time to warm up before each swim meet.
Wednesday night HOME meets: Start at 6pm, arrive by 5pm; Wednesday night AWAY meets: Start at 6pm, arrive by 5:15pm; Saturday morning HOME meets Start at 9am, arrive by 8am; Saturday morning AWAY meets: Start at 9am, arrive by 8:15am.
Is there food at the swim meets?
All the pools in our league have snack bars at their swim meets.
Is there transportation to the away meets?
It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to get all swimmers to/from and meets. Swimmers may not ride with coaches to or from meets. Parking is limited at all the pools so carpooling is suggested and encouraged!
How long are meets?
Meets last approximately 3 hours. Championships and the Mini Meet can last all day. All parents are required to work home meets and some are needed for away meets. Please make necessary arrangements for younger children.
How should I dress for the swim meets?
Dress comfortably for warm, humid conditions as all meets are held outside. Saturday morning meets are hot so be sure to wear sunscreen. Wednesday night meets get cooler so dress in layers that can be removed based on your comfort level at the pool.
How do my swimmers know what they are swimming?
The coaches come up with the line-up for each swim meet. It is then the coaches and parent helpers' responsibilty to line the swimmers up for their race.
How can I show my support for our team?
Be sure to exhibit your best sportsmanship and team spirit. Cheering for your team during a meet is great! Wear team gear or colors!
